Body found near Cliff House unrelated to sinking vessel

Fire officials said firefighters found a body Monday evening in a war bunker below the Cliff House in San Francisco.

An alert was issued at 6:31 p.m. by fire officials who said initially it was unclear whether the body was related to a report of a sinking vessel in the same area around 1 p.m. Monday.

Fire officials have clarified that the body is unrelated to any sinking vessel. They said the U.S. Park Police are investigating the discovery of the body.
Monday evening someone reported another sinking vessel about one mile offshore and after a search by the U.S. Coast Guard fire officials said the report was unfounded.
