Balcony collapse sends two to hospital in Outer Sunset

Two people were hospitalized after a balcony collapsed Monday at a home in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset District, according to fire officials.

Around 4:42 p.m., fire officials issued an alert that a backyard deck collapsed at a two-story home in the 1600 block of 39th Avenue. The two victims, both adults, suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening, fire officials said.

The City’s Department of Building Inspection responded to the scene to evaluate the home.
