Civic Center BART reopens after flooding forces platforms closed

Flooding on the concourse and platform levels at the BART Civic Center Station prompted transit officials to close the station late this afternoon.

At around 2:50 p.m., BART said on Twitter reported that the possible cause of flooding originated from the Muni platform level which sits above the BART platform.

BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said that BART trains would skip Civic Center Station during the closure. About a half hour later, BART tweeted the station had reopened.

Erica Kato, spokesperson for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, said Muni subway service is unaffected by the flooding.
