The attack was reported around 5:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Post Street.
The victim, whose name is not immediately being released, suffered lacerations to his head and neck and was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police said the suspect is a 42-year-old man who has not been arrested. No other details about the case have been released as of Tuesday morning.
