Pedestrian dies after collision with car in Benicia

Benicia police have identified 70-year-old Sharon DeLamore as the victim of a fatal pedestrian collision Saturday evening.
DeLamore was hit by a red or maroon sedan around 6:15 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street. She succumbed to her injuries in a hospital Sunday night, police said.
The vehicle was traveling north toward Military East road when the collision occurred, police said. The suspect’s car possibly has front-end damage, police said.
Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to check their security cameras for images recorded between 5:50-6 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (707) 745-3411.
