A handcuffed individual escaped from Oakland police custody Friday afternoon, police said.
At about 2 p.m. the individual escaped from a Police Department patrol vehicle in the 1400 block of East 31st Street outside Highland Hospital.
Police provided no other details except to say they are investigating the escape.
