Downed power lines in Napa close streets, cut power

Downed power lines have shut down streets and left thousands of residents and businesses without power in Napa Thursday evening, police and utility officials said.

Napa police advised residents via Twitter just after 10 p.m. to avoid the area of Silverado Trail between Saratoga Avenue and Fairview Drive.

Separately, PG&E officials reported a power outage affecting 2,445 customers in the area.

Napa police said that Sousa Lane was also closed between Soscol Avenue and Silverado Trail. Streets are expected to remain closed in the area until 5 or 8 a.m.
