An 8-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck him Friday afternoon as he crossed 19th Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District, police said Monday.
The collision happened around 3:05 p.m. on the major thoroughfare at Lawton Street.
As the boy was riding a bicycle within the crosswalk, a vehicle heading south on 19th Avenue struck him. The boy was rushed to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle, a 58-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police said she was not arrested.
