The woman, a Santa Clara resident, was trying to cross Kiely Boulevard around 3 p.m. when a gray Dodge Charger traveling south on the roadway struck her, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.
The pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway outside of the crosswalk.
Police have identified the driver of the vehicle as a 20-year-old woman from San Jose. She remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
