Suspect in Napa bar beating surrenders to police

Napa police said a second suspect in the assault of a female at a bar earlier this month surrendered to police Thursday night.

James Curtis Faulkenberry, 30, and Juan Rojas, 39, both of Napa, are suspects in the assault of a female at Stone’s Sports Bar & Lounge at 1679 W. Imola Ave.

Police said the two men started a fight in the bar around 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 17. Rojas surrendered before Faulkenberry did, police said.

A video posted on the Napa Police Department’s Facebook page shows one of the suspects punching a female in the face knocking her unconscious.

The second suspect in the video also attacks the female and kicks her several times, police said. The victim suffered facial swelling and went in and out of consciousness, police said.

The video shows two male bar patrons with pool sticks also were assaulted after they came to female victim’s aid. Both suspects left before police arrived.

Napa police Detective Garrett Wade said the victim and the suspects did not know each other and they weren’t with each other in the bar. The motive for the assault is still under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Napa police Detective Wade at (707) 257-9509 or text an anonymous tip at TIP411 or text 707NPD and a tip to 947411.
