Driver dies after Ashbury street crash

A 64-year-old man died after crashing into parked cars while backing up his vehicle in The City’s Ashbury Heights neighborhood on Monday morning, police said.

The crash was reported at 5:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Ashbury Street.

The victim was backing his car when he lost control and hit two parked cars. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. A 61-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was uninjured, police said.
