Police in Palo Alto are investigating an attempted strong-armed robbery that occurred Wednesday at a park.
Officers with the Palo Alto Police Department responded Wednesday at 8:11 p.m. to Eleanor Pardee Park at 851 Center Drive on a report of an assault.
Police said the victim, a woman in her 20s, was walking on a park path when a man shoved her to the ground and tried to grab at her pockets.
The victim was able to roll away from the suspect, and he ran away, police said.
The victim suffered a minor injury to her ankle, but she declined medical treatment.
She described the suspect as a light-skinned man in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and with a muscular build. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, pants and dark shoes.
