Pedestrian injured in Panhandle hit-and-run

A 60-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run collision along The City’s Panhandle on Wednesday night, according to police.

The collision was reported at 9:07 p.m. at Oak and Baker streets.

The vehicle struck the victim as he walked in a crosswalk, and the driver then fled east on Oak Street and remains at large.

A detailed description of the suspect and vehicle were not immediately available from police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
