We have a sticky mess out here on I-880 Southbound, north of Tennyson Road. A trailer carrying tar overturned spilling liquid tar on the roadway. The #1 and #2 lanes are blocked. An alert for heavy traffic was issued after the incident at about 11:30 a.m. The tar spill is blocking two lanes on the freeway just north of Tennyson Road, according to the CHP.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. There is no estimated time for the lanes to be reopened, according to the CHP.
