Four adults and two children were left without a home Sunday evening after a fire caused substantial damages to a Daly City duplex in which they lived, according to the North (San Mateo) County Fire Authority.
The fire in a duplex at 653 Lisbon St. was reported at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, and firefighters arrived to see smoke coming from the first floor. The kitchen was seriously damaged by fire, according to a news release, and the rest of the unit sustained significant smoke damage.
No people were injured, but firefighters rescued a dog and a cat, which were taken to a local veterinarian for treatment. Firefighters remained on the scene for about two hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
