Oakland police said several vehicles were towed from at least one location of numerous sideshows in the city early Sunday morning, according to police.
Police said the vehicles were towed from the area of 42nd and Interstate Highway 880 around 2:30 a.m. Officials announced around 1:40 a.m. Sunday that officers throughout the city were dealing with “large sideshow activity” at various locations throughout East Oakland.
Police said people participating in the sideshows were throwing rocks and bottles at officers, and people in the crowds fired numerous gunshots. Traffic was impacted at several locations, but police didn’t specify where the activities were taking place.
