A structure fire Thursday in Soquel severely damaged a home and displaced four residents.
Firefighters responded Thursday at 7:52 p.m. to a residence on Tola Ranch Road on a report of a structure fire and a burning vehicle.
Responding crews located a single family home on fire with flames coming from all the windows of the residence.
There was also a vehicle burning in a carport adjacent to the home.
Four residents, two adults and one child, had already safely evacuated the residence.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby wild land and were able to contain the blaze in about 20 minutes.
It took four hours for crews to have the fire under control.
The home sustained extensive damage and has been deemed uninhabitable.
Firefighters said the residents of the home reported they initially discovered the fire in the carport after hearing popping and banging noises coming from the area after arriving home.
An exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
