Man in critical condition after Aquatic Park water rescue

A man is in critical condition Thursday morning after San Francisco firefighters rescued him from the water near The City’s Aquatic Park.

Around 6 a.m., fire officials responded to a report of person in distress near the park.

According to fire spokesman Lt. Jonathan Baxter, the victim suffered traumatic injuries. He was taken to a hospital.

A man and a woman were also rescued from the base of a nearby cliff. They were also taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

The victims were in an area that is closed off by a gate, Baxter said:

“We tell people to stay on the trails and adhere to barriers and signage for their safety and to enjoy the beautiful views their city has to offer, but from a safe vantage point.”
