Around 8:50 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Fell Street.
There, they discovered that a 49-year-old man had confronted his uncle and during the confrontation, the uncle shot him.
The victim was taken to a hospital for a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening, police said.
The suspect, identified by police as Bobby Dawkins, has been booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated assault with a firearm.
