All lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 just west of Treasure Island in San Francisco are currently closed after a shooting may have led to a traffic collision on the San Francisco Bay Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Bert Diaz said the eastbound freeway was closed around 2:35 a.m. today due to the shooting. There is no expected time of reopening and the CHP didn’t have any information on injuries.

Sunday morning’s shooting is the second to occur on Bay Area freeways within nine hours, as a shooting on westbound Interstate Highway 80 in unincorporated Contra Costa County injured at least one person on Sunday evening.
It’s unclear if the victim in Sunday’s evening freeway shooting was shot or injured in a traffic collision and the CHP didn’t have any information on whether the two freeway shootings are connected.
