Police arrest unarmed robber of FiDi Wells Fargo bank

Officers arrested a 49-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo bank in San Francisco’s Financial District Thursday afternoon.

Around 3:45 p.m., the unarmed suspect walked into the bank at 1 California St. and handed the teller a note, police said.

The note demanded money. The teller then gave the suspect an envelope with an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect took off running.

Responding officers, however, were able to apprehend him just a couple of blocks away, near 301 Mission St., according to police.

Officers were also able to recover the stolen cash.

Police did not release the suspect’s identity.
