Person running across I-80 hit by car

One person was hit by a car when attempting to run across the freeway after a collision on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 near the El Portal exit Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash apparently involved a silver Honda Civic, and happened around 9:15 a.m., according to the CHP traffic log. The crash shut down two lanes of the freeway for about a half-hour. All lanes are now open.
