One dead after shooting near 17th and Mission
One person died and two others were wounded in a shooting Sunday near 17th and Mission Streets.

One person died and two others were wounded in a shooting Saturday night near 17th and Mission Streets, police said.
San Francisco police Officer Joseph Tomlinson said officers in that area heard gunshots about 8:45 p.m., and almost immediately found three people on the ground along Mission Street.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Tomlinson said; the other two, one with life-threatening injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital.
There was no other information available late tonight about the victims, or about any apparent motive for the shootings, Tomlinson said. Police are investigating.
