Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews have fully contained a one-alarm fire at a home in Lafayette early Thursday morning, according to fire officials.

The fire was first reported at 3:59 a.m. and was fully contained at 4:57 a.m., according to Capt. Steve Aubert.

When fire crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke and fire was coming from the garage of the home into the attic, Aubert said. The cause is under investigation.
