Board of Supervisors President London Breed lead in San Francisco’s mayor race continued to grow on Sunday, as the Department of Elections released the latest results on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Breed had led the former state Sen. Mark Leno on Saturday by 498 votes, and now, her lead over Leno has grown to 1,580.
Results from last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday showed Leno leading over Breed.
The department counted more than 16,400 votes since Saturday’s report. The votes came from approximately 2,600 ballots that voters dropped off at City Hall, 2,400 ballots that were cast at City Hall and 4,800 ballots that voters dropped off at polling places.
The department still needs to process more than 25,000 ballots, which includes 14,000 provisional ballots.
Preparations to count provisional ballots will begin on Monday. The counting of provisional ballots may begin Wednesday, according to the department.
The department will have another update on Monday at 4 p.m.
