Alleged dog-kicker sought after attack

The identity of a suspect is being sought after he was seen on film kicking and severely injuring a stranger’s dog, officials with San Francisco’s Department of Animal Care & Control said Friday.

Images of the man and a video of the alleged attack were released by Animal Care & Control.

The dog named Puppet suffered a fractured skull when it was kicked by the suspect, animal care officials said.

Virginia Donohue, executive director of Animal Care & Control, said in a statement:

“Our agency is on the front lines of investigating animal abuse and neglect. … The community acts as our eyes and ears. If anyone has evidence that animals are being mistreated, I encourage them to call our agency.”

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call Animal Care & Control emergency dispatch at (415) 554-9400 or send an email to acc.dispatch@sfgov.org.
