One dead, two injured after Oakland hit-and-run

Oakland police are seeking a driver who fled after a crash that killed a man and hospitalized two other people early Thursday morning.

The hit-and-run was reported at 2:28 a.m. at 98th and Bancroft avenues, according to police.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police did not say what the extent of the other two victims’ injuries were.

Police said a driver involved in the collision fled before officers arrived. A description of the suspect and vehicle were not immediately released by police.
