Sonoma to Vegas flights begin in August

Sun Country Airlines announced Wednesday it will fly non-stop from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas between Aug. 30 and Dec. 2.

Planes will leave the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport on Thursdays and return on Sundays from McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Sun Country Airlines is offering introductory fares as low as $59 each way.

Sun Country Airlines also flies non-stop between Santa Rosa and Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota, between June 29 and Oct. 28.

Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore said in a statement:

“We are pleased that Sun Country sees the value and strength in our market to add Las Vegas. … Las Vegas is a highly requested destination from our residents, and we are confident that it will be a great success for Sun Country too.”

The Sonoma County airport also offers non-stop flights to San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Orange County and San Diego.
