Raiders’ Penn under investigation for domestic violence

Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Donald Penn is under investigation after Sunday night’s alleged domestic violence altercation with his wife inside their Los Angeles home, according to ESPN.

The LAPD responded to a radio call dispatched to Penn’s home in LA Sunday night but Penn left the scene before investigators could arrive and question him.

According to TMZ, Penn allegedly slapped his wife’s buttock, grabbed her wrist and poured a drink over her head.

Penn, whose hometown is Inglewood, Calif., is a 12-year, three-time Pro Bowl veteran coming off a season where his streak of 170 consecutive regular season starts was snapped due to a right foot injury in week 15.

Penn is recovering from Lisfranc surgery —  to repair bone damage in the midfoot — and is not participating in ongoing offseason program workouts currently being held in Napa.

Penn, 35, had not missed a game since 2007, and now the Raiders will lean heavily on first round draft acquisition, Kolton Miller, after selecting him with the 15th overall pick out of UCLA.

After Thursday night’s NFL Draft, Penn tweeted “More Motivation,” according to ESPN. The tweet has since been deleted

The Raiders selected two offensive tackles with their first three picks, and Penn is in the last year of a two-year $21 million deal he signed after holding out during training camp last offseason.

Penn made back-to-back Pro Bowls the past two seasons ( 2016 and 2017) but heads into a new season with more questions than answers.
