Sunday Streets event comes to the Bayview

Cars will be banned, though fun will not, in parts of San Francisco’s Bayview/Dogpatch neighborhood Sunday during the Sunday Streets event, organizers said.

The event, in which streets are closed temporarily to vehicle traffic, is scheduled to run through the Bayview’s main corridor, with a car-free route spanning Third Street from 22nd Street to Carroll Avenue. It is planned to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, according to organizers.

Planned entertainment includes the Bayview Senior Center’s Carroll Street performing arts stage with live music ranging from choir and praise dance to blues music, plus giveaways and exhibitors.

Sunday Streets is a program of the nonprofit Livable City presented in partnership with SFMTA, the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the City and County of San Francisco.

Livable City produces an annual season of Sunday Street event in various neighborhoods with routes 1-4 miles in length, with free activities provided by local nonprofits, community groups and small businesses.
