Pedestrian killed on westbound I-580


A pedestrian died Thursday night on westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland when a vehicle struck them, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at about 9:10 p.m. on Highway 580 just east of Coolidge Avenue.

All but one lane of westbound Highway 580 is blocked at High Street, CHP officials said. A Sig-alert was issued at 9:27 p.m.
