Police responded to the 2700 block of Range Avenue at 1:30 p.m. after a man told police that he shot himself in the chest.
Officers spoke to the 20-year-old victim, Christian Anthony Lugo Baca, and found that he had two gunshot wounds in his chest.
Police said one wound was an entrance wound for a bullet and the other was an exit wound.
Baca allowed police to search his home nearby and they found a bullet casing and a .40 caliber Glock gun in one of the bedrooms. They also found a bullet lodged in the wall.
Baca was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries. He was then arrested and booked in Sonoma County Jail for discharging a firearm in a gross negligent manner.
