One dead after Dogpatch altercation, hit-and-run

One person died after a hit-and-run in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood Wednesday morning, a hospital spokesman confirmed.

A physical altercation between a driver and five people resulted in the driver plowing into the victims with his vehicle.

Of the five people taken to the hospital, one person died, one is in critical condition, two are in serious condition and one is in fair condition, according to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital spokesman Brent Andrew.

The incident occurred around 10:25 a.m. near the corner of Illinois and 24th streets, according to San Francisco police Officer Giselle Linnane.

After striking the five victims, the driver fled the scene.

Further information about the driver was not immediately available.
