A man died and two others were injured in a shooting in West Oakland on Wednesday night, according to police.

Officers responded at 8:41 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Eighth Street, a few blocks from the West Oakland BART station.
They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
A few minutes later, two other men arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. One succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead while the other is listed in stable condition, police said.
The man who died was a resident of Oakland. His name is not yet being released.
Police did not release any information about a possible suspect or suspects in the shooting. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the department’s homicide section at (510) 238-3821.
