Juveniles arrested after BART robbery

Two juveniles were arrested after robbing a BART passenger in Oakland on Tuesday afternoon and slashing him when he fought to keep his property, police with the transit agency said.

BART police officers responded at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday to the Fruitvale station to intercept a train that was reported to have two robbery suspects on board.

The suspects fled as the officers arrived but were taken into custody after a foot chase, police said.

One of the suspects had cut the victim’s hand with an edged weapon during the robbery. The pair was booked into juvenile hall and their names were not released, according to police.
