Driver cited after striking, injuring pedestrian

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck her in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood on Friday evening, according to police.

The collision was reported at about 7:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of California and Baker streets.

A 22-year-old woman was crossing the street in a crosswalk when a vehicle turning west onto California Street hit her, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was issued a citation at the scene for failing to yield to the pedestrian, police said.
