All San Francisco Muni buses throughout The City pulled out late from bus yards for service Friday morning due to the radio communications system failing.
Between 6:15 a.m. and 6:40 a.m., the radio system was down, said Paul Rose, spokesperson with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
Rose said the transit agency had to check each bus to make sure they were working properly which led to buses leaving the bus yards later than usual on Friday morning.
The radio system is back online, but the SFMTA’s network is still down affecting NextMuni, which provides passengers with arrival information at transit stops for Muni vehicles.
Rose said bus drivers are not able to log into the network, which is why NextMuni was not providing accurate arrival information.
Arrival time predictions for Muni Metro lines are not affected, said Rose.
The SFMTA sent out a tweet at 3:44 p.m. that NextMuni predictions for buses was running again at transit stops and on the app.
