Middle Schooler suspected of stabbing

A message about the stabbing was posted on Facebook by the sheriff’s office at 9:05 a.m. and officials said the stabbing occurred at North Monterey County Middle School at 10301 Seymour St.
The school was locked down as a result of the incident. Deputies responded and were able to arrest the suspect, who is a student.
As of 10:48 a.m., the lockdown had been lifted, sheriff’s officials said.
The juvenile victim was flown to a Bay Area trauma center, according to sheriff’s officials.
No one else was injured and deputies do not believe that the stabbing was gang-related. No other details were immediately available.
