Santa Rosa residents who own property in the fire-impacted areas can dispose of their fire damaged green waste for free at two wood chipping locations next week and in March, county officials said Friday.
Eligible green waste material includes burned and partially burned brush and felled trees up to 12 inches in diameter on residential property and adjacent sidewalk areas.
The materials cannot be contaminated with fire debris and residents are responsible for transporting the waste to the chipping sites.
Residents do not need a permit to remove trees within a wildfire burn area in Santa Rosa city limits, but they should take a photograph of the tree’s condition before removal. The photos will have to be presented during the rebuilding permit process or when submitting an entitlement application.
The free green waste disposals are at Nagasawa Park, 1313 Fountaingrove Parkway 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and March 10 and at Coffey Park, 1524 Amanda Place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday and March 11.
