Hammer fight inside store injures teen

An 18-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a hammer during a fight inside a store in San Francisco’s Crocker Amazon neighborhood on Saturday night, according to police.

The victim and another 18-year-old walked into a store in the 300 block of Rolph Street around 10 p.m. Saturday and several suspects followed behind them, police said.

A suspect swung a hammer at the victim, who took out a knife and stabbed another of the suspects before being hit by the hammer, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries that are considered life-threatening, while the suspect stabbed by the knife was also hospitalized but is expected to survive, police said.

The other suspects fled in a vehicle and no other information about them was immediately released by police.
