Pedestrian killed in collision on I-880

A pedestrian was killed Saturday night when they were struck by a vehicle on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The collision was reported at 7:49 p.m. on Highway 880 just south of 29th Avenue.

A Sig-alert was issued at 8:05 p.m. because three lanes are blocked.

CHP officials said they have no estimate for when the lanes will reopen.
