Two injured, blocks apart, in Mission shootings

Two people were injured in shootings in San Francisco’s Mission District that occurred just blocks apart on Sunday, police said.

The first shooting was a drive-by that occurred around 1:10 a.m. in the area of 22nd and Mission streets.

A 22-year-old woman, who police described as a bystander to the incident, was injured in the shooting but police said she is expected to survive her injuries.

Officers in the area heard the gunfire and saw two men in a vehicle driving away from the area, but no arrests were reported as of Monday morning.

The second shooting was reported at 9:44 p.m. Sunday in the area of 22nd and Shotwell streets.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, told police he was walking on the street when he heard a loud pop and realized he had been shot.

The victim said he saw a vehicle leaving the scene, but police did not release any vehicle or suspect description as of this morning.

The victim was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive his injuries.
