The Alameda County Public Works Agency is holding three open houses this week at local libraries to receive feedback from the public on potential bicyclist- and pedestrian-oriented improvements that can be made in unincorporated parts of the county.
The agency is currently developing strategies to improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety, increase access to work, school, transit and leisure and facilitate more walking and riding in unincorporated Alameda County, county officials said.
The policies will be integrated into the county’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for Unincorporated Areas once it is finalized.
If interested in voicing their opinion, members of the public can choose to attend one of the three meetings: today at San Lorenzo Public Library located at 395 Paseo Grande, on Wednesday at Castro Valley Public Library located at 3600 Norbridge Ave., or on Thursday at Livermore Public Library at 1188 S. Livermore Ave.
All sessions will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with presentations taking place at 7 p.m.
