The victim of a car crash Sunday evening in San Jose has been identified as San Jose resident Barbara Lazaro.
The 37-year-old woman was driving a gray 1998 Toyota north on Silver Creek Valley Road around 6:05 p.m. when a silver 2004 Mercedes-Benz traveling south on Silver Creek Valley Road turned east onto Beaumont Canyon Drive.
The force from the collision caused Lazaro’s vehicle to roll over and eject her. She was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The man driving the Mercedes remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.
It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision, according to police.
Police said Sunday’s case was the second fatal traffic collision on San Jose city streets in 2018.
