Gruden to be announced as Raiders new coach

The Raiders have reportedly found their head coach, leaving Monday Night Football in need of color commentary.

Jon Gruden will officially be announced as the new head coach in Oakland on Tuesday, according to Steve Corkran of RaidersSnakePit. The report was confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Gruden spent 11 seasons as an NFL head coach, the first four of which coming in Oakland. His career .540 winning percentage (95-81) is driven down by a trio of down seasons in Tampa Bay. With the Raiders alone, Gruden finished each of his four seasons with a .500 record or better, finishing 64-38.

Since he was fired by the Buccaneers following a 9-7 record in 2008, Gruden has been part of ESPN’s football coverage.

Now, he will bring his “Spider 2 Y Banana” to Oakland in his return to the helm of the Raiders.
