Holiday thieves target Nest thermostats

South San Francisco police are asking for help locating a pair of suspects who stole dozens of Nest thermostats from a Lowe’s hardware store early Saturday morning, police said Sunday.

Officers responded at 4:25 a.m. to the store in the 700 block of Dubuque Avenue after an alarm went off.

Officers discovered that two suspects forced their way into the store, stole the thermostats and got away in a white, 4-door vehicle, possibly a Dodge Intrepid.

Officers looked but did not find the suspects.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900 or the department’s anonymous tip line at (650) 952-2244 or send a tip to tips@ssf.net.
