A person was hospitalized with burn injuries after a structure fire in San Francisco’s Sunset District Monday morning, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded at 9:08 a.m. to the fire reported at 1556 Noriega St., a two-story building with residential space above the New Hing Lung restaurant.
The fire was reported to be in the rear of the first floor of the building and tenants evacuated. One person was taken to a hospital for burn injuries but is expected to survive, fire officials said.
Flames extended from the attic to an adjoining structure before firefighters extinguished the fire as of 9:48 a.m.
Its cause is under investigation and fire officials did not immediately know whether any residents will be displaced as a result of the blaze.
