A big-rig truck crashed in Lafayette Monday morning, hitting a fire hydrant and taking down a power pole, according to police.
The crash happened at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and North Silverado Court. The water to the hydrant and the power in the area had to be turned off.
Police have asked residents to shelter-in-place due to the live wires. PG&E is expected to get the power to the area back on later Monday.
The crash is causing traffic delays in the area, police said.
