Raiders’ Penn tangles with fan following loss

Following a 30-17 loss to the Ravens Sunday, Oakland’s third defeat in a row, Raider left tackle Donald Penn was involved in a verbal altercation with a fan departing the players parking lot at the Oakland Coliseum.

In a video of the incident, tweeted it out by user @bigheadchris6, Penn is seen parking his car just outside the security gate of the parking lot and walking toward a group of fans, separated by one security guard while another summons a police officer.

Penn appears to attempt to deescalate the situation before responding to a storm of curses with some of his own.

Penn later tweeted that the fan initiated his response by throwing a bottle at his car:

In separate twitter videos, the fan in question claims Penn “called me a bitch two weeks ago” prior to the incident and later denied throwing anything at the lineman’s car.

The Raiders, who were favorite to win the AFC West and play for the AFC Championship prior to the season have followed wins in the first two weeks with losses in the next three and now find themselves in third place in the division.

As of Monday morning, the team has not issued a press release regarding the incident.
