Child found safe after SF Amber Alert

A 2-year-old girl was found safe Saturday night after she was abducted earlier in the day by her father and two other suspects in San Francisco, police said.

At 3:06 p.m., San Francisco police officers responded to a report of a parental abduction in the area of Golden Gate Avenue and Webster Street.

The victim was 2-year-old Jalanie Forston.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and determined that the child’s mother had been assaulted. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police learned that the child was abducted by her father, 21-year-old Javonn Forston. Two additional suspects, one male and one female, were also involved in the abduction, police said.

An Amber Alert was issued and law enforcement officials around the Bay Area were notified of the abduction.

At 9:44 p.m., San Francisco police were notified that the suspects were in custody outside of San Francisco County and the child was located and safe, police said.

This case remains under investigation by San Francisco police and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
